History of HIADA
The Hawaii Interscholastic Athletic Directors Association was officially incorporated - as a nonprofit corporation - under the laws of the State of Hawaii in February 2020. In March of the same year, the HIADA Board of Directors announced the hiring of William Villa as its new Executive Director. Villa was concluding his 12th year as the Athletics Director at Chaminade University in Honolulu. Previously, he had served as Athletics Director at Mid-Pacific Institute and Assets School, both of which are schools in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu. In August of 2022, HIADA received notification from the IRS that its application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status had officially been approved. 2025 will mark HIADA's 64th state conference.
